Design for Qualopec in Tomb Raider: Anniversary

Concept design for Qualopec, one of the three rulers of Atlantis in Tomb Raider: Anniversary. In the story, there was a catastrophe that made Qualopec paralyzed and broken from the neck down. This walking armor was designed to provide mobility and life support for him. The air pumps at the back would cycle allowing him to breathe, and the legs would have artificial muscle fibers which contracted with electricity. The Art Direction was to exemplify the unique nature of Atlantean technology. For brief periods of time, Qualopec can open the front mask area and see with his own eyes. In the center of his chest armor would be where the Scion was placecd. It acted as a power source and would unlock certain secret areas.
